Why is UC Davis the one for you? “UC Davis is the ‘one’ for me because of its uniqueness. There isn't another school in the country that is comparable to UC Davis. The fact that we can keep our identity, but at the same time outcompete most other schools in both athletics and scholarships, is why there really is only one UC Davis.”
What do you hope to be your legacy here at UC Davis – what marks have you made or changes that you hope will continue? “I hope that I am remembered as a trend-breaker at this school. Not in the traditional sense, mind you. I don't want to ‘fight the power’ or ‘stick it to the man.’ I just know that I will be successful at what I want to do, and I know that there is not a set path I must follow in order to reach that goal. The fact that I am a pre-med football player proves that. Not to mention the fact that I am an anthropology major, as well — a rarity, at most schools.”
Tell us about one person at UC Davis who has enhanced your life or your work? “I would have to say that one person at UC Davis who has enhanced both my life and my work is the football head coach Ron Gould. Although I've only known him a little while, the lessons he has taught my teammates and I are lessons I will use for the rest of my life.”
